Live to Inspire


Fighting against heart disease, dealing with poverty and battling the bullies of her classmates, Lorie pursues her studies as grade eight learner. She is a proof that disability is not a hindrance to become a typical student. 


She is the youngest of the four. Her family is currently living at small town which is more than four kilometers away from the school. Lorie has a heart a heart disease which contributed to her physical complexities. She is not a typical child who plays a lot yet, she still enjoys her life despite of the disability being dealt with. She loves dancing which is her outlet from the classmates who usually bully her. As she dances, happiness is visible over her face.


An inspiration to the students especially to those who have luxuries in life but chose to escape classes in order to stroll and have fun outside the campus, that is Lorie. She is a manifestation that even with disability, it is great to go to school and study. Children who are living normally should be ashamed of missing classes for a kid who is fighting a battle in life attends classes regularly, why can’t they then? If Lorie can, then they can as well.


Moreover, Lorie is a model to those who don’t have disabilities yet chose to look down on her and worst, bully her being. Despite these scenarios in her life, she keeps on battling her heart disease for she believes it is not a hindrance for success. 


There is no need to be perfect to inspire others. Let others get inspired by how you deal with your imperfections. This is how she show the true perfection of a person even she have imperfection not in attitude but in physical appearance.


However, with the peer pressure that surrounds her, she sometimes incurred absences for if she wouldn’t, she might possibly be bullied again which made her decide to join her peers. This is one of the current issues in her life that are being addressed by her mentors so as to help her finish her studies despite of the trials and challenges given unto her.


Children who are living normally should be ashamed of missing classes than a kid who is fighting a battle in life yet opted to attend classes and try to learn for she is a competitive and strong one. Disability is not a hindrance to become a typical student. When you can’t find the sunshine, be the sunshine. If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.
